Hazel has an impressive command of the English language for someone so young—especially when that someone is a mouse. She does not chat with humans, however, as mouse-killers are beneath her. The most she will interact with them is to jump out and frighten her roommate, 19-year-old Olivia Bent, a part-time college student and full-time mean girl.
According to Hazel, that girl deserves it.
Still, when Olivia announces that she and her BFFs have rented a place on the beach for spring break, Hazel decides to stow away in Olivia’s makeup kit. Even mice need a vacation, and Hazel would love to see the ocean again.
Fun times turn tragic when the property manager turns up dead, and all eyes turn to Olivia as the most likely suspect. Only Hazel knows who the murderer is—will she finally speak to these horrible humans and reveal what she saw? Or will she leave Olivia to hang by her mean-girl rope?
