WHAT’S NEW?
My goodness, I’ve been MIA! Mea culpa. I have no excuse, except to say that the Summer of ’24 has been a long slog of procrastination. It is October and perhaps it’s Halloween but I feel positively invigorated. Let me bring you up to date.
We continue to work on whether the girls are going to learn to enjoy one another or whether we shall rename them Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.
BUT WHAT AM I WORKING ON?
Well…
- I promised that MURDER TAKES THE REINS would be released in 2024. I had such high hopes, but I was younger and more optimistic then. Trust that I am making progress and will have it available as soon as it meets my standards for exceptional.
- Peri and Skip will be in a new mystery together with their detective agency as soon as I find a crime to solve. It should be interesting to see Skip’s by-the-book training working with Peri’s get-forgiveness-later philosophy!
- Without releasing any spoilers, there are more stories to tell in the world of Lisette de Lille…and I plan to tell them!
WHERE AM I?
October 18: I’m at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo for Wordfest OC. I won’t be there with my books–I will be representing the OC Writers group at a booth to tell everyone who we are and what we do. Here is a link to the event: https://www.saddleback.edu/events/wordfest-oc
(BTW, here is the link to the OC Writers Facebook page, if you’d like to learn more about that: https://www.facebook.com/groups/OCWriters
October 19: If it’s October and it’s Saturday, it’s the annual Placentia Heritage Festival, held in Tri-City Park. I will have a booth there with lots of books and a strong urge to talk to people. I hope you come by if you’re in the area!
November 10: I’m at the Yorba Linda Town Center (18421 Yorba Linda Blvd, Yorba Linda, CA) for a holiday craft event. Yes, I’ll have books! Yes, I’ll want visitors!
IN THE MEANTIME…WHAT ELSE CAN I DO FOR YOU?
I am available for book clubs, and for writing groups, I teach workshops–check out your options at https://gaylecarline.com/speaking-teaching/
KEEP READING PEEPS!
A job well done, Gayle! Nice!
Hi Gayle!
I saw you just this past weekend at the CFWC Convention and bought three of your books. I started reading Freezer Burn yesterday and finished it today. I really enjoyed your presentation at the ESO breakfast and I really enjoyed your book! Thank you! Keep on writing!
